My apologies about the lack of posts from last week, you know ordinarily I would never treat you like your crush who won’t text you back, but thing about last week is that it was exhausting.
And honestly? I’m already exhausted by this week. I know you’re reading this and you’re probably like omg Meech, how can you be exhausted, you’re so beautiful and kind and talented and you have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyoncé—well guess what dear reader, the ONE (1) thing that separates us is that Beyoncé has a glam squad, I don’t!
Speaking of glam squad, I was invited to the New York premiere of Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi’s new film Saltburn, by Promising Young Woman director Emerald Fennell. And as we know, the strike is over, so Barry and his dimples were also there, but no Jacob Elordi! Boy getting too tall for his britches! Anyway, enjoy this photo of me.

I have a lot to say about a lot of things:
I loved Saltburn. It was a fun cousin of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited (Fennell even had numerous easter eggs and other references to it within the film) and while I love Jeremy Irons’ miniseries version of Brideshead Revisited from 1981, I will always adore the 2008 version with Ben Whishaw and Matthew Goode.
Rosamund Pike—Oscar, Grammy, Tony, Emmy, Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award, she deserves ALL the things for her role in this film I mean my GOD! She was SO GOOD!!!
Barry Keoghan was brilliant, and ever since The Killing of a Sacred Deer I have been so excited for his film career. And let’s just say you see a LOT more of him than expected. Hashtag aubergine emoji.
Jacob Elordi is a great actor, and not just because he’s tall, but he brings a vulnerability to his characters that makes you fall in love with them. I’m also really excited for HIS career. Euphoria wasted him!
And now that I mention His Tallness, I saw Priscilla a week or so ago, and in MY opinion, Jacob’s Elvis far surpassed Austin Butler’s Elvis, he really looked and sounded so much more like him. Then I came across a tweet that felt like it was cooked inside my brain.
The fact that Kaia Gerber—Cindy Crawford’s offspring who isn’t NEARLY famous enough in the modeling world as she should be—has dated both Elvi (plural of Elvis) and is still currently dating the inferior Elvis, Austin Butler, we need her for a sit down lie detector test interview. We need the truth on who she thinks was best!
Now that the strike is over, I’m hoping that celebs will go back to being interesting again, or at least well dressed (also for the celebs who read this newsletter I’m not talking about you, you’re perfect!) actually, now that I mention it—first House of Gucci, and now Ferrari, WHO decided that Adam Driver was the go to guy to portray important Italians throughout history????
Anyway—I will leave you with this insanely grainy video someone took on their iPhone 3GS of Adam Driver being rudely asked a question by an audience member as if he works in the special effects department and responding “Fuck you, I don’t know. Next question” the boys are BACK baby!!!
tk
Always take the time to rest King, your audience will wait regardless. I think the time change has made everything feel a lot more difficult - I hear you on the tiredness.
I can't wait for Saltburn - so your cosign is all I needed!
