I’m calling it right now—2023 is the year of the Bi. It’s like Life of Pi, but Year of Bi, get it?
This week(end) has been such whirlwind, between Red, White & Royal Blue’s beautiful bi protagonist with full eyelashes, Heartstopper’s bi protagonist, and collegiate Barack Obama maybe (secretly?) being bi—I mean, I don’t know if it’s such a secret since he literally wrote it in a letter and sent it to his ex-girlfriend—you can read more about that in this week’s post. Since there’s so much bi-stuff going on in the media, I thought why not also mention that the playlist—much like all the worst 2000s fashion you thought you’d hidden in the deepest, darkest corners of your memory—is BACK baby!
Can you believe this newsletter is almost a year old (every time I say that a single tear rolls down my face like Demi Moore in Ghost), and in that time I’ve tried some new things and figured out what works, and what doesn’t work. Weekly playlists were doing TOO MUCH. You really don’t get a chance to sit with the music in that time before something else takes its place.
Monthly playlists aren’t doing ENOUGH, how many times have you heard that song? Exactly. You’re sick of it. Bi—as with many things—is where it’s at. So dear reader, close your mouth and lend me your ears! (Julius Caesar kinda snapped when he said that) and enjoy this week’s playlist!
Love you like LFO loves girls in Abercrombie + Fitch!
