Happy Friday! I can’t believe I/you/we made it! This week has been a LOT.

ANYWAY, in a really strange turn of events, Taylor Swift’s poets department is done being tortured, and she is now the one being targeted.

Earlier this week it was reported that teens involved with ISIS (throwback! ISIS terrorism is so 2001) were targeting her shows in Vienna, causing her to cancel them, leaving hundreds of thousands of fans disappointed, but also like—alive? So let’s celebrate THAT!

In an even stranger turn of events, those same fans gathered anyway? Like do y’all understand what was about to happen to you? I don’t think they do, this is dangerous!

But in the wake of things, Taylor announced she was releasing four new versions of the same damn album she been releasing for months, and that’s when Anthony Lady Gaga News kind of slayed here—her fans were in jeopardy (and not the fun, Alex Trebek kind, RIP king) and she hasn’t said anything (let alone anything about endorsing Kamala Harris), but she can release more albums?

Other fans were quick to say “she’s not the one releasing them! It’s her team” And I just think it’s hilarious how they say she’s so powerful when it benefits them, and then infantilize her when it comes to something important. Interesting indeed.

These kinds of threats should absolutely be taken seriously though, I’m old enough to remember the tragedy that happened at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester. It takes a toll on everyone, and it needs to be properly addressed, at the right time: Now

• Capote and the Swans Chris Brown and the Songstresses

  Within the span of a week, three separate songstresses (Kehlani, Victoria Monet, and Jordin Sparks) have all come out in support of Chris Brown, taking photos with him, and attending his shows. I don’t get it. Why do people love abusers? And before somebody in the comments says “it was just that one time with Rihanna!” first of all, once is enough. And secondly, not it wasn’t. Did I Forget To Mention

I keep thinking more and more about about starting a book club, and I think… it’s happening? Anyway, Pulitzer prize winning author of Less, Andrew Sean Greer loved my tweet, (I love it when life imitates art) and I loved his book, and if you haven’t read it, you absolutely should. There’s also a follow up called Less Is Lost! Also worth it!

I generally read fiction unless it’s it’s a celebrity memoir (shout out to Mariah Carey and Demi Moore for releasing fantastic books), because my Google game to fall down a rabbit-hole is UNMATCHED. But what do y’all be reading? What can we read TOGETHER! I WANNA KNOW! Have a great weekend! Do something/one I would do!
