You know that thing of when something reminds you of something else, but you can’t quite put your finger on it until dawns on you, and then you’re like—DUH?

Well that’s what happened when I watched the trailer for The Idea of You, the new Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine romcom adapted from the book of the same name by Robinne Lee.

Obviously, I’m not the first person to have this idea, but I fully thought it was mindless conjecture because people love contributing everything from feminine dress, and sexual fluidity to Harold Styles, but now that I’ve seen the trailer, I must say, I’ve seen the light and… I’m… on board? I really think this could be Something Great?

Here’s the thing. If the success of Anyone But You is any indication—society is DESPERATE for romcoms—like we’ll take anything, but now, Prime Video said what if we fulfill some of these girlies’ wildest dreams? What if we give them a movie and litter it with the Best Songs Ever???

To be fair, we need more older-woman-younger-man representation! I just rewatched Unfaithful, and that is a sexy romdram, I mean hello! I’m begging for it! I’m dying for it!

The music is SO One Direction lol, like I really am gonna be so insufferable.

And now that I mention it—this isn’t the first time something like this has happened, back in 2021, for InStyle, I wrote about the film Aline—a small film with a big heart about a Canadian singer Aline Dieu who falls for an older man who becomes her manager, and she goes on to superstardom. Any guesses on who that is? Exactly.

But as a former One Directioner—Zayn Malik, the king that you are—this is clearly about them boys, and specifically, Harold Styles.
