Came here to whole heartedly agree! Omg what a show! Reminded me of the experience of watching Michaela Coel’s show—the wholly originality of it. I didn’t know (bc off social of the people weirdly tracking people down, yikes).
I wrote this before reading and seeing you also thought of Coel’s show!!! I willl be back discuss when I am done (I was interrupted by watching Shogun week to week like a maniac).
Ok, I was dragging my feet on this one because I knew it would be disturbing (which, tbh, is where I live! but sometimes a gal can only take so much) but now I'll have to fast-track it to #1 in my queue.
Strangely it’s not disturbing in a blood and guts way, but in a moral grey area way, and an “omg are you SERIOUS” way, I think it concludes beautiful though
You mentioned I May Destroy You which is one of my absolute favorite shows of the past few years so that has me even more intrigued... It also concluded beautifully which I think is so hard to get right. Will definitely watch Baby Reindeer soon--thanks for the push.
Yessss. I think the word genius is VERY overused but Coel deserves it. Writer, exec producer, star, co-director--blown away by the magnitude of her work, and how brilliantly she did it. (Also her decision to not take the Netflix money because she'd lose her rights to the work. I admire that so much.)
You say he's treated differently because his stalker is a woman and not a man, but let's be honest, they'd still have been useless even if the stalker was a man.
You’re very good at making me want to watch things I didn’t want to watch.
I actually wasn’t gonna watch this because it felt too weird/spooky but I’m so glad I did!!!
Exactly what I was thinking

Ooo will watch-caught the people hunting on Twitter for identity of the stalker and was like wow this is unnecessary at a minimum
It’s so bad—everyone is insane

I May Destroy You’s finale is probably top 10 finales for me—especially in a limited series. She just has a great mind for nuance

I am really looking forward to reading this and being fucked up over it for several days! I can just tell.

Came back to say how BEAUTIFULLY executed the show is!
