I’ve been pretty quiet on here for the last week or so because this newsletter is undergoing a revamp re: content, but, now more than ever, I must break my silence on a few celeb goings on. These are those stories.
Honourable Mention
Cruelty Free Summer
Taylor Swift has bought back her masters for a reported $360M, $60M more than Scooter Braun sold them for, and I for one am happy for her, but happier that all of y’all can stop pretending the re-recordings were superior. They sounded a mess, and the cover art was worse! But Style will be on repeat in THIS house this weekend, I can tell you that much!
Rhode To Billionaire Status
I never could have imagined that the first Baldwin to reach a billion dollars would be the daughter of the least talented Baldwin brother, and yet—not only has Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) married her childhood crush, but she has just sold Rhode, the company with the cellphone lipgloss case shaped like labia for $1B. I gotta hand it to her, not bad. Not bad at all. With all the odds1 stacked against
Dog Day Afternoons
I pet so many dogs this week. That’s not breaking news, but I thought y’all should know that, so it kind of IS breaking news.
Playbook Princess
Jordon Hudson, the young girlfriend of blob—I’m sorry, Bill Belichick may be able to add another title to her resume soon, because allegedly the two are engaged, after Hudson was seen with a massive engagement ring in a really grainy photo. Dating a man who had a “girlfriend of 16 years” and then ALLEGEDLY becoming his fiancée in less than 2 years—idk maybe Jordon Hudson know a lil bit more about playing the game than Bill Belichick does!!! Does she love him? Definitely not, but I’m very excited to see where this goes. It would make a great HBO show. Now that I mention it, It kind of already has, because it really gives Kerry and Logan in the last season of Succession.
Another Climb
Miley Cyrus has dropped ‘Something Beautiful’, a new album with a feature from… checks notes… Naomi Campbell? I don’t understand it, but I will always support my diva even if she hasn’t made good music since Plastic Hearts in 2020. I believe in her!!! She NEED TO BE worrying about learning the choreo when Beyoncé bringsg her out to sing the lesbian anthem II MOST WANTED during the Houston shows of the COWBOY CARTER TOUR. Full thoughts on the album after the weekend.
Stellar Skarsgård
The best Skarsgård of the bunch is in a new tv show, and even though he can literally do no wrong, I am surprised by how much I’m enjoying Alexander Skarsgård’s new show Murderbot. My only qualm is that they made him anatomically incorrect. When he’s on TV he loves getting naked, and this is a major disservice.
Don’t Mention It
Mimi’s Mixes
The 20th Anniversary of what many people would call Mariah Carey’s “comeback album” dropped today, replete with remixes featuring Beyoncé’s family (Solange, Jay-Z), but no Beyoncé, so there’s that. I will always be an ‘Emancipation of Mimi’ truther because they really tried to count my girl OUT and she came back swinging. A lot of the remixes aren’t for me, but thankfully the OG version still exists. What I will say is the a cappella version of Joyride EATS.
Knick It In The Bud
It seems like everyone and their mother has come out in favour of the Knicks’ underdog story, and for that, I must root against them, not because I’m a contrarian, but because I don’t like the colours blue and orange together.
And speaking of things I don’t like together—Timmy and Kylie who have been plastered courtside in their comped seats at every Knicks game. I will never understand that “relationship” so I will never stand!
Did I Forget To Mention
I’m currently reading Who Knew by Barry Diller—the media mogul and husband of Diane von Furstenburg who just came out as gay and it’s so revelatory I cannot WAIT to talk about it.
The odds are literally her husband, her biggest opp. The man who closes car doors on her, and said she would NEVER be on the cover of Vogue, and yes the cover is ugly, but she still made it.
This is how I find out she's a Baldwin?!
