I also hate when I tell people I’m hosting Thanksgiving (on the holiday) for a group of friends and then the person I tell this to corrects me and says “oh so you’re having a *friendsgiving*” which feels like they’re diminishing it. Like it’s not a real Thanksgiving unless you’re subject to the company of your family. Okay girl.
Sorry but I’m with this person (who presumably isn’t invited to Friendsgiving) on this! I don’t think it diminishes it, but I do think it’s one of those things like Galentine’s/Palentine’s day. It’s just a more apt description!
eating lots of little appetizers, numerous breads, and drinking lots of alcohol. It’s for people who have STOPPED being polite, and STARTED getting real!---this is my only style of entertaining if cooking is involved, at any time of year 😂
