I don’t watch any of these shows—I just somehow absorb them via social media, like 2025 secondhand smoke—but every word you’ve written here is both true and hilarious.
Have you checked out Such Brave Girls? Season 2 just dropped on Hulu and it's not a hate watch so much as a show I genuinely enjoy about characters who are very hateful (in entertaining ways); I think it scratches a similar itch as hatewatching, but I prefer this version because the show's writer is also in on the joke, as opposed to effectively supporting someone who I think is Bad at Their Job...
I guess they decided to actually advertise it this time since season 1 won the Bafta... if you're not put off by how aggressively British it is, I think it could be your cup of tea, it's delightfully catty
You've made my week with this information!!! I was TRANSFIXED by season 1 and have been dying for a season 2. It's literal, utter debauchery with such fantastic writing and a no holds barred approach to the less explored disgustingness of girlhood, lol. Definitely not hatewatching, but maybe cringewatching? I'm so excited to binge the second season and then get really sad when it's over!
I'm accidentally watching this show called Dickinson (Apple TV+ circa 2019??). So all over the place, inconsistent writing and acting, terrible music choices, but plays into the fact that Emily Dickinson was a lesbian so overall we're here for it.
I had to bring this show up because after Hailee Steinfeld was in Sinners people were like "she came out of nowhere" UHHHH she's an Oscar nominated actress!
The Luka and Marcus reveal would be too much character and plot development for The Bear I fear… The Bear barely does either, never both. Still I watch.
Oh yeah something that dramatically rich would actually break the show in two. Unless maybe there’s a way to get another random Fak sibling involved, and a Sufjan Stevens song playing underneath…
I’m not defending The Bear - people like what they like! - but I looked up the timeline for The Bear universe, and it's June 2022-August 2023, so a little over a year. So it makes sense that people haven't changed much
Depends on what you like. There are some great 'foreign' netflix series. My wife who hates sci-fi has even got into some of the lighter sci-fi ones. We just finished a show called "Glitch" which is about people in a small Australian town that suddenly come back from the dead. But not, like, all gross zombie-like. We really enjoyed that one.
My wife also loved Dark. And if you're watching Murderbot on AppleTV+, check out Dark Matter. That's leaning even further into Sci-Fi but it's smart, pretty high concept. Severance is also one of her favorites along with Silo.
I should point out she's a zombie nut, so she kind of naturally gravitates to post-apocalyptic series. She also loves From (MGM+) and Evil. I saw that Evil is on Netflix now.
I watched the first ep of “The Waterfront” last night because it stars bae Holt McCallany and it is terrible. He has strayed very far from Mindhunter with this one, but I will do my best to power through the 8 episodes.
May I suggest K-pop Demon Hunters on kids Netflix? I’ve been waiting and waiting and my 9yo finally started watching it and it’s got everything-cute animals, amazing hair, and dance breaks.
Everything feels like a hate watch these days and I’m over it!!! We need another HBO banger to unite us as a nation.
DEEPLY!!!! An insane family to unite us all

Honestly? This is the way to do it. I don’t watch AJLT or Love Island but I feel like I know everything that’s going on

Wait I literally just got an ad for Such Brave Girls!

Join the club! I started binging the moment it became available yesterday so I already finished 😭, it’s just so good!
Will Poulter with an American accent will always be the kid in that movie with Jen Aniston and Jason Sudekis.
Will Poulter with his actual accent? HOT LIKE FIRE. 🔥
I may dip back in to the Bear later this year - or not. I’m still traumatized by the 7 Fishes ep.
Drinks with Broads are recapping AJLT and their recaps are *chef’s kiss*!
The Bear was truly a waste of time, but I love recaps!

I just trust Will Poulter’s IG stories. He gives us the truth they won’t!

I feel like even working at a restaurant for a weekend a lot would have happened.

I generally stay away from anything TOO sci-fi, but I loved Dark when it aired, and I'm loving Murderbot! Although I'm behind

It’s in my queue already!

I watched the first three episode after that scene on the dock with his full bush, but I’m sorry, it’s so bad. I can’t. I simply can’t
I did love the bush!! 😭
Dept Q is good.
I'm obSESSED with Dept Q, I love Matthew Goode. A Discovery of Witches remains a fav
i need to check out A Didcovery of Witches!

I don't know about this diva lolololol
