I loved Luster so much! So fun to hear that the author also loves In the Cut, one of my favorites. Great interview.

This is the second time In The Cut has come up for me! Hunter Harris mentioned it in her thirst post on Hung Up. I'm convinced I need to see it now.

Let glen close live! I love this! As a former latch key kid, the description of the hidden movie cabinet and seeing the butterfly cover of Silence of the Lambs felt so visceral. R movies were ok for me and my sis to see, but my folks never allowed us to watch Natural Born Killers as kids (understandable), so of course I obsessed over finding a way to watch it. When I finally did, I was shaking in my skin and sick in my gut with spine chilling fear (tbh I’m not endorsing that film, but it stuck bc of memories of how it was in the off limits in the dvd stack.) it’s funny how these forbidden films stay with us and shape our pov on what art means or matters. I loved reading this dialogue with raven on thrillers; thank you for sharing this beautiful interview.
