Millie Bobby Brown Is Highkey Begging for the Britney Biopic
She's begging 4 it, dying 4 it, a slave 4 it
*If you were one of my lovely followers on the hellscape that was Twitter, you may have noticed that I am no longer there. That’s right girls. They took me out like JFK, but worse. I didn’t even get to ride in a drop top. Pray for me*
Oops, She tryna do it again.
Me myself personally, after the nightmare that was Back To Black, the Amy Winehouse story, and the awful Bob Dylan movie A Complete Unknown that Timothée Chalamet1 is currently on a strange press tour for—I think it’s safe to say, we can cool it on the biopics for a bit.
I Need Timothée Chalamet To Stop
I’ve said time and time again that I love a good press tour, but the A Complete Unknown press tour is not good.
Many people have been vying for the role of THE Britney Spears ever since she announced the biopic, a strange thing is that Wicked director Jon M Chu has the rights to it. But an even stranger thing (see what I did there?) is that Millie Bobby Brown is throwing her hat in. Do I think Millie Bobby Brown is a good actress? No. Do I think she looks like Britney Spears? Also no. But, do I think that she could jump into this role, and breathe life into a story that needs to be told? Hell to the no. But that doesn’t mean she won’t try.
What I will say is on the red carpet for her new film The Electric State co-starring Chris Pratt, Woody Harrelson, and Ke Huy Quan, she was making the lightbulbs flash with the spectacle of her boyfriend husband, Jake Bongiovi, of John Bon Jovi parentage.
If you’ve seen the young starlet’s Instagram lately (which I literally had to go to her Instagram page to do because she do not be on my feed like that) then you noticed that she’s recently posted a few photos that are heavily inspired by a certain pop princess of the 2000s.
She’s also gone blonder than she has been, reaching that aughts platinum hair. Which I will say, does make her look younger, something that has been taking her out of the running because she’s only 21 and she has looked 39 for the last few years. Now this is not a misogynist take, this is truly just the truth so I don’t wanna hear it!
The real issue here is, I don’t think that a Britney biopic should cast a well-known actress. It should go to an actress from Tuscaloosa, or Chattanooga, or one of those cities in the south, or somewhere that nobody can pronounce, a girl who wants to be an actress, who still has that hunger in her tummy for stardom, just like Britney did. Because this new crop of girls simply just doesn’t have it.
But there’s another interesting element here, do I think that Millie Bobby Brown will use the fact that she has now married into music royalty as an extra bump in her favor to get closer to Britney? Absolutely, she is an insane young woman, and I kind of have to applaud her for going after what she wants, despite not having any talent.
This film has already gone through several directors though, so what does that mean for the movie, will it go out like the Madonna biopic? I guess time will tell. Don’t let me be the last to know!
Although maybe the attention-seeking is working because now he won a SAG award for it
I agree. It should go to a rising actress. There are too many try hard wannabe Britney's out there.
Jon Chu could find them, if he rolled up his sleeves a bit.
“this is not a misogynist take, this is truly just the truth so I don’t wanna hear it” lolol and you may actually be being generous with 39
